AITS Network Administration Group

Personalized Vulnerability Scan Reports

Machines in ENCS are scanned for network-exploitable vulnerabilities every day by one of our computers: Humpty.encs.concordia.ca [132.205.96.199]. This is a normal, unaggressive scan designed to detect known vulnerabilities in software running on your machine. No attempt is made to break into the machine or to disrupt its functioning.

Every ENCS user who is the owner, administrator or assigned user of an ENCS computer that has been seen on the network in the preceding 60 days will have access to the results of the most recent completed scan of their machines by visiting

where 'u' is the first letter of your ENCS username and 'username' is your ENCS username. E.g., for user 'j_doe',

This page is protected by your ENCS password, and it shows scan results only for those machines for which you are owner, administrator, or assigned user. You cannot see another user's scan results.

Of course, the purpose of this exercise is to help users recognize and eliminate vulnerabilities, so please, if you administer a computer in ENCS, take the time to deal with problem cases as they arise. If you're an owner or an assigned user without administrative privileges, please let the administrator know about any problems you find.

Thanks,

NAG
