General Plotter Information

• Location: H0964-00
• Hardware:
  • Three plotters: RASP, CHISEL, MALLET
  • One B&W ledger (11"x17") printer named FORGE
  • One color ledger (11"x17") printer named PALETTE
• The maximum paper size is up to 42 inches
• The reolution is up to 600 dpi.

Plotting Availability, Procedure, Paper Sizes, Quota, Advice

• Availability:
  • The plotters are available to ENCS students by appointment
• Procedure: Through the years, we have encouraged students to send print jobs to plotters in PDF format. However, for certain posters, it may be necessary to sent the print job from the original application. Therefore, when you present yourself to H0964-00, make sure you have access to your file(s) in both the original and the PDF format.

• Paper Sizes: This link refers to the more common plotting sizes. A subset of paper sizes and corresponding printer/plotter locations follows:

• Quota: The first time an ENCS student sends a job to a plotter, a plotting quota of 25 pages is allocated to that user. If you want to print a ledger size drawing, i.e. 11"x17", you have at your disposal a B&W printer (FORGE) and a color printer (PALETTE). A combined printing quota of 50 pages is given for the ledger size prints. Both the 25 page plotting quota and the 50 page printing quota are assigned once throughout the Program. If you need extra quota, we will require an email from your supervisor.
• Advice: The presentation booths are equipped with one table and a pin board (or easel). The provided board may be one of the following dimensions: 48"x60" (4'x5') or 48"x72" (4'x6'). As the maximum width of the rolls we provide is 42", we suggest that you design your poster to fit a 42"x60" custom plot.
