Please check your .cshrc file. You may have an echo command there. If yes,
comment it out. The echo command is trying to insert the text messages where
they don't belong, in this case, polluting the protocol stream between
scp/sftp and sftp-server.
This can also occur if you're outputting some text to
the terminal from your .cshrc file. For instance if you
execute the 'date' command in your .cshrc file.
