Questasim is installed on our ENCS Linux systems.
From Windows:
- You will need an X11 server for use in a Windows environment. We recommend Xming or Xfree86.
- Using SSH Secure Shell Client, connect remotely to an ENCS Linux server such as "computation.encs.concordia.ca". Make sure you enable secure tunneling for X11 graphic connections:
Edit->Settings->Profile Settings->Tunneling->*CHECK* "Tunnel X11 connection".
- Then run the already installed version of the Questasim software by doing:
To run QuestaSim , one must first source the file /CMC/ENVIRONMENT/questasim.env
Therefore, from the UNIX prompt, type:
> source /CMC/ENVIRONMENT/questasim.env
To run the tool, enter the following command at the shell prompt
> vsim
Documents are located in :
/CMC/tools/mentor/questasim/questasim/docs/pdfdocs
A good starting point would be:
- questa_sim_tut.pdf
- questa_sim_user.pdf
From Linux:
- ssh into computation.encs.concordia.ca
- Run the software as described above
Please note that Questasim is a licensed product from Mentor Graphics and that we obtain the license through the use of the
