using an ENCS system?

[Modified Friday, Jun 25th 2010 by saeed]

You can use 'rdesktop' in Linux to connect to 'Windows Terminal Server' named as "ts1.encs" for windows remote desktop. The rdesktop program should already be installed on ENCS-managed Linux systems.

To install it on a user-managed Linux system, switch to root and use
'yum install rdesktop'.
Your ENCS username and password are required for the login.

Example:

rdesktop -u your_encs_username ts1.encs -g 1024x768

To get a list of all the options associated with this command, when in Linux, type 'rdesktop'.

Please note that this service is only available to ENCS faculty/staff.
