General Description:
One encounters the following error when running ISE tools on Solaris:
"ERROR:Portability:3 - This Xilinx application has run out of memory or has
encountered a memory conflict. Current memory usage is xxxxxxxx kb...."
This Portability Error:3 is caused by students having the following line:
limit vm 300M
in their .cshrc file. Commenting out the line fixes the Xilinx Portability Error:3:
# This is commented out
#limit vm 300M
Remember, that one has to logout and re-login for this change to have effect. Alternately, one can open a new xterm window and work from the newly opened window.
